Evening Primrose is close to many attractions including Cavendish (the land of Anne of Green Gables ), Gateway Village, quaint Victoria-by-the-Sea, and the Confederation Centre of the Arts.
We are only a short drive to the Island's two cities, Summerside and Charlottetown. We're mere minutes from the south shore with its red sand cliffs and by taking a lovely cross-country drive you can be on our famous North Shore in no time. That's where you'll find Green Gables, the fictious home of the impish Anne, the red-headed heroine created by Lucy Maud Montgomery. If you didn't read "Anne of Green Gables" when you were a child, consider reading it now. You'll fall in love with our Island long before you get here. If you're interested in this book and others by contemporary Island authors of children's books check out a cool web site, The Literary Lobster.
We're very proud of our gardens. They are a seemingly never-ending labour of love. Every year we expand them by trying different vegetables and growing more perennials and herbs from seed. One of our absolute favourite seed catalogues is from Pinetree Seeds in Maine. We almost rub the ink off the pages throughout the winter as we dream about next summer's garden.
